Outbound
The stars are lights, Which blind my eyes,
When I sail beyond,
Earth’s blue sky.
Outbound am I, On a rocket plume,
Flying beyond,
A sunlit moon.
Across dark spaces, Passing through dark matter,
Traveling outward,
And mad as a hatter.
Not angry but crazy, And chasing desire,
Exploring the universe
Sets my heart on fire.
Outbound am I, On a rocket plume,
Investigating what lays,
Beyond our moon.
The Milky Way? A playground for me,
Full of neutrons and novas,
And new worlds to see.
Red giant fires, Binary stars,
Traveling outward,
Exploring afar.
Outbound am I, On a rocket plume,
If you’d like to come too?
I’m leaving next June!
Outbound, You and me,
On a rocket plume.
